Houston firefighters ride 850 miles for fallen comrades

HOUSTON Supporters greeted the fourth annual Brotherhood Ride at the finish line at Fire Station 26 in southeast Houston Saturday afternoon. This year's ride honored Captain Jim Harlow and firefighter Damion Hobbs, who died in a burning home on Easter 2009.

Station 26 was their home base, and four firefighters from Station 26 took part in the ride.

"We want to provide the comfort that, a year later, the fire service across the nation has not forgot about the sacrifice that they made," said Houston Fire Department District Chief Bob Branch.

Three dozen firefighters and police officers from across the U.S participated in the 10-day, 850-mile ride from Tallahassee to Houston.
