Driver killed after slamming into tree in NW Harris Co.

HOUSTON he male was driving southbound on Ella Blvd. near Kuykendahl around 2am Saturday when witnesses saw him swerving and driving at a high rate of speed. He lost control of his vehicle, drove onto a grassy median and slammed into a tree. The car caught fire.

Deputies say the man was not wearing a seat belt. He was pronounced the man dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
