Police say a small plane has crashed while trying to land on a roadway in upstate New York, seriously injuring two women aboard. The crash was reported Sunday afternoon to police in Oswego County, on the southeastern shore of Lake Ontario.

One of the injured women has been taken by helicopter to a hospital in nearby Syracuse. The other has been taken by ambulance.
