Local expos to provide census assistance

HOUSTON Two expos will be held in Houston this weekend to answer census questions. State and local officials announced the expos today. Americans are being asked to send in their census forms by April 1.

The Houston Be Counted Expos will take place from noon to 5pm Saturday at:

  • Plaza Americas, 7500 Bellaire Blvd., Houston
  • H-E-B Scott Street, 6102 Scott Street, Houston
  • Census questionnaires were mailed to households nationwide starting March 15. Families are encouraged to bring their forms to the expos. A drop box will be provided for submitting completed forms.

Information gathered through the census affects federal, state and local political representation and is used to distribute more than $440 billion annually in federal funding for many vital social and economic programs that benefit Houston residents.
