Woman injured in rollover crash

FRIENDSWOOD, TX The crash occurred shortly before 7:30am in the parking lot of the HEB grocery store at 701 W. Parkwood. Prince Freeman, 72, of Friendswood, was taken by Life Flight to the Texas Medical Center.

Witnesses told police they saw Freeman's 2003 Jeep Cherokee traveling at a high rate of speed southbound in the 1500 block of Sunset, where the vehicle sideswiped a 2006 Dodge truck driven by Anthony Messara, 83, of Friendswood. No one in the truck was injured.

Police say Freeman crossed through the intersection into the store parking lot. Her vehicle struck several grocery cart racks, a tree and a light pole before the vehicle rolled at the far south end of the parking lot.

Freeman was wearing her seatbelt and was conscious and alert when loaded onto the air ambulance, according to police. No charges are pending as police have tentatively identified a medical problem as a contributing factor to the crash.
