Houston has 2nd largest population jump in US

HOUSTON Census estimates show, from July 2008 to July 2009, the Dallas metroplex increased in population by more than 146,000 people to just under 6.4 million. The Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown area's population went up by more than 140,000 to 5.86 million people.

The Austin-Round Rock area had the 12th largest population increase, and San Antonio came in 16th.
