Van fire shuts down part of freeway

HOUSTON The fire started just after 1am on the North Freeway at Cavalcade. Firefighters arrived to find the van's front half completely engulfed. The driver of that van said he saw smoke from under the hood just before the fire started. The driver wasn't hurt.

Two lanes of the North Freeway were shut down for a while. They have since re-opened.
