Franklin County officials say the fall early Sunday morning claimed the lives of Laura Elizabeth Echols of Fort Smith and Trenton Lee Faith II of Cypress, Texas. Both were 20.
Student Cameron Cooper of Coppell, Texas, suffered a broken pelvis and other injuries as he tried to help the other two who fell in an area near the Mulberry River.
Authorities say Echols was first to fall, then Faith fell while trying to reach Echols. Cooper was airlifted to a hospital and then transferred to a Texas hospital so he could be closer to family.
Authorities were summoned at about 1 a.m. Sunday.
