Reward increased for parka bandits

HOUSTON Police say the suspect is responsible for at least 14 robberies in the northwest, northeast and North Shepherd areas of Houston. They say he's targeting auto parts stores.

Investigators say he walks into the stores and demands money from the cash registers and safe. In some instances, he is accompanied by another suspect.

The suspect is described as an African American male with a big broad build. He appears to be in his late 20s to early 30s and stands around six feet tall.

Crime Stoppers and Auto Zone will pay up to $7,500 for any information called in to the 713-222-8477 tips hotline or submitted online at www.crime-stoppers.org that leads to the identification, arrest and/or charging of any suspect in this case. Tips can also be sent by text message - Text TIP610 plus your tip to CRIMES (274637). All tipsters remain anonymous.
