Firefighters were called out to the shop Sunday afternoon and found the building all in flames. A short time later, the store owner was found by a driver off the side of the road.
Deputies then put it all together. They say the kidnappers had set the building on fire after a robbery. They say they haven't seen anything like it.
"This is new to me, that we have a robbery and a fire at the same location," said Zach Long with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
The store owner was taken to a hospital and checked out. Right now, the robbers are on the loose. Deputies have not released a description of them.
