HPD officer involved in minor accident

HOUSTON The accident happened on Highway 288 near Southmore around 11am. The officer doesn't appear to be seriously injured, but he is being taken to an area hospital.

The details of the accident are unclear, but the patrol car suffered minor front end damage. There's no word on any other driver involved.

Traffic is backing up considerably during the investigation.
