Sister Damian Kuhn, a diehard Houston Astros fan who lived across the street from Minute Maid Park and religiously attended games, has died. Her published and online obituary said Sister Kuhn died Monday. The Roman Catholic nun was 89.

A message left Friday with her order, the Congregation of the Incarnate Word & Blessed Sacrament, regarding a cause of death was not immediately returned to The Associated Press. A funeral mass was scheduled Tuesday in Houston.

Astros owner Drayton McLane told the Houston Chronicle that Sister Kuhn was the team's "No. 1 fan and she always took it personal."

McLane, acknowledging the Houston-born nun's vow of poverty, gave her season tickets that allowed her to sit behind home plate.
