Man who beheaded 'Mr. Buck' sentenced

HOUSTON Prosecutor showed the head of the deer known as "Mr. Buck" Thursday during Brandon Gregory's sentencing. Investigators say Gregory broke into Mr. Buck's pen at Bear Creek Park in 2008, then killed the animal and beheaded it.

His lawyer says the sentence is too harsh, but prosecutors say the sentence is just.

"I don't think there were any alcohol or drugs involved," said prosecutor Eric Bily. "I just think there was something in him that wanted to claim and collected that head as a trophy of Mr. Buck."

As part of the sentence, Gregory can't have a hunting or fishing license for five years. He also had to turn over the items he used to kill Mr. Buck.
