Former Houston hospital worker sentenced for ID theft, fraud

HOUSTON A federal judge on Wednesday sentenced 30-year-old Nakeshia Brown of Houston.

Brown in August pleaded guilty to bank fraud and aggravated identity theft.

She worked approximately five years as a patient care assistant in the Memorial Hermann healthcare system.

Prosecutors say Brown admitted using her job to steal printouts of patient medical records and use the personal data to apply for credit cards in the names of the victims, but for her benefit.
