Explosion injures three at plant in Angleton

ANGLETON, TX Two of them were burned over nearly every inch of their bodies. Those victims were taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital and are in the burn unit.

A flash fire left them with burns over 90 percent of their bodies.

The two employees of Thermal Polymer Systems suffered second and third degree burns over most of their bodies. A third employee with minor burns was transported by ambulance.

The owner of the business said the workers were inside a tank when the flash fire ignited just before 4pm.

"What they were doing was actually rolling on a primer for a lining in a tank truck. It's something that we do hundreds and hundreds of these. They weren't doing anything out of the ordinary," said Darla Murrel of Thermal Polymer Systems.

The two employees in the burn unit are listed in stable condition.

The owner told us the company is cooperating with the TCEQ in their investigation.
