An alleged marijuana growing operation was hard to hide in the town of Hideaway. Law officers on Thursday converged on a home in Hideway, a Smith County community of about 2,900, to investigate reports of marijuana growing.

Three people were arrested on drug possession charges. Constable Dennis Taylor says a monthlong investigation led to the home in a remote section of town near a private golf course and lakes.

Investigators say two bedrooms were being used for growing and drying pots of 4- to 5-foot marijuana plants. In another room, a flex tube provided hot air for drying the drugs.

Taylor says you could smell the marijuana throughout the house. Hideaway is about 80 miles southeast of Dallas.
