Deputy reportedly shoots bank robber

A bank robbery suspect was hospitalized, after reportedly being shot by a Harris County Sheriff's deputy in northwest Houston. Officials say that just before 1pm, someone called police about a robbery at the Vista Bank on the Northwest Freeway at West Little York. A Harris County Sheriff's deputy was working an extra job in the bank when the suspect came in with a mask and sunglasses on. The suspect reportedly pointed his weapon towards the deputy and he fired twice at the suspect. The suspect returned fire in the bank and ran out. The deputy chased the man outside and fired again.

The suspect was shot, then arrested and transported to Ben Taub Hospital. There's no word on the suspect's condition. No other injuries were reported.
