Authorities say Methvin might have started running because he wanted to be killed. All officers involved are on administrative leave pending an investigation.
Santa Fe officer opens fire on chase suspect
SANTA FE, TX
Police say they tried to pull over Chad Methvin for speeding, but he didn't stop. Police chased him until he crashed near FM 2004 and I-45. Investigators say officers tried to get Methvin out of the car, but he allegedly ried to run them over, so officers opened fire.
