Three-alarm fire damages townhomes

About 100 firefighters were called out to battle an early morning fire at a northwest Houston townhome complex. The first fire crews only saw smoke when they arrived at the complex on Blalock near Long Point, but after finding the source of the fire, they called for two more alarms, to keep the fire from spreading.

In all, four townhome units were damaged by the fire, smoke and water. Three families were affected, and are being moved to other units.

Asst. Chief Adrian Trevino Houston Fire Department said, "The management team, I just spoke with them. ... They are coordinating to salvage whatever belongings were saved by the firefighters and move them to a different unit to try to take care of that."

Arson investigators are trying to determine what sparked the fire, but they don't believe it is suspicious.
