Firefighters were met with heavy flames and smoke as they battled a house fire in northwest Houston. That fire broke out in the home's garage on Jacquelyn near Janak around 11pm last night. It took firefighters nearly an hour to get the flames under control. At one point, a downed power line forced crews to go into defensive mode. However firefighters were able to eventually put out the blaze.

No one was home at the time. The cause is still under investigation.
