Where to take that old Christmas tree

HOUSTON Last year, thousands of real Christmas trees were recycled across the country. Those trees were turned in 102 tons of mulch and kept out of the nation's landfills.

In Houston, 16 city recycling centers will accept old Christmas trees through Monday, January 11. Christmas trees will also be picked up during your scheduled tree waste collection day in January. Remember to remove the tree decorations, especially tinsel.
