Woman reunited with family for Christmas

HOUSTON We spent the day with the family as they prepared Christmas dinner. You'll recall Dollie Ann Henson was kidnapped from Houston 55 years ago and moved to California. Years after that tragedy, she's making up for lost time.

It is a Christmas gift Dollie Henson has waited 55 years to unwrap - spending the holidays with her long-lost family for the first time since she was five years old.

Dollie had basically run out of options when she went on our air last month looking for her family.

"I'd like to know if they missed me," said Dollie at the time.

Little did she know her Houston relatives would be watching.

Over the last month, she'd come to know her aunt, her sister, cousins and her little brother she hadn't seen since the day she was kidnapped.

"This moment right now is overwhelming. I can't sleep I'm spending every second I can while she's here and enjoying. I know my mother is smiling right now," said younger brother Larry Young.

Henson's biological mother passed away seven years ago and although they hadn't seen each other in years, family members say their similarities are uncanny.

"She looks exactly like my mother and has my mother's way too. Trust me," said Young.

As special as this reunion was, there was still one missing piece of the puzzle. She had never met her older brother Robert, but that changed Christmas Eve when he flew in from Dallas to be with the rest of the family.

"You're the last piece of my puzzle, baby," Dollie told Robert.

It's one Christmas gift certainly to remember.

"What does the bible say, I once was lost but now I'm found. Blind, but now I see. For the situation, this is the best Christmas in my life, because now I'm complete," said Dolly.

Believe it or not that's only part of the family. More family is due in on Christmas Eve and the family is running out of room. They did try to rent a hall, but all were booked up and overpriced. Either way, Dollie says no matter where she is, she's glad she's with her family.
