A Los Angeles fire spokesman says a commuter train has collided with two cars, injuring four people including an infant. Two of the victims have been taken to hospitals in critical condition. Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey says the crash occurred shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday between a commuter train and at least two cars. Television reports show one mangled car and another damaged vehicle alongside tracks on which a Metrolink train has stopped.

Humphrey says the four injured were in the cars.

The train remained upright and on the tracks. Humphrey says no injuries have been reported aboard the train.

A phone message left for Metrolink was not immediately returned.
