Read in August pleaded to money laundering. He was sentenced Friday.
His ex-wife, Emily J. Read, also known as Emily Joe Khalili Read, is serving 41 months in prison and must repay more than $670,000.
She pleaded guilty in September to money laundering and to passing counterfeit notes in Lubbock and the Dallas area.
Prosecutors say the embezzlement happened from June 2004 to December 2006 when Emily Read was a bookkeeper for clubs Lubbock, Corpus Christi, plus in Lawton and Tulsa, Okla.
