Girl, 17, wounded in shooting at La. high school

SHREVEPORT, LA Police say it happened at 8:19 a.m. Friday at Booker T. Washington High School in Shreveport. A police spokesman told The Associated Press that an adult suspect was taken into custody.

The spokesman said the 17-year-old victim was wounded while she was on the school grounds, outside of the school building. Police could not immediately offer details on her condition.

Authorities told reporters in Shreveport that the shooter was waiting for the victim. The school was on lockdown Friday morning.
