Galveston smoking ban being reviewed

Galvestonians may have the final say in the city's new smoking ordinance. Businesses complain the ordinance goes too far by banning smoking in outdoor seating areas and tobacco stores. The Galveston city council will meet today to take another look at the rules, which take effect January 1.

Council members could amend the ordinance, rescind it altogether or put it on the may ballot and let voters decide where people should be allowed to smoke.
