Boy escapes would-be abductor near school

HOUSTON The possible attempted abduction happened Tuesday morning, not far from the school in southeast Houston. A fourth grader was heading to school when he says a man grabbed him off his bike and tried to drag him up a driveway. The boy escaped and ran to school.

Parents were alerted by a recorded message from the principal. Parents we talked to this morning say they're concerned.

"Every parent needs to bring their kids to school and bring them all the way inside to the classroom if they can," advised parent Domingo Chavez.

HISD says it has increased patrols in the area.
