A Houston police officer's vehicle caught fire while he was out on patrol overnight. The officer says he smelled smoke in his squad car while driving on Homestead at Crosstimbers. He pulled over only to find fire coming from his trunk. The flames caused several shotgun shells in the trunk to explode.

Firefighters had to be careful while putting out the fire because ammunition in the car was exploding. No one was hurt. Arson is now trying to find out how the fire started.
