Police seek suspected 'Peeping Tom'

HOUSTON The investigation is going on off Coral Ridge near Champions Drive. Caught on camera peering into a family's backyard, a stranger is causing concern in Harris County's Champions Forest neighborhood.

"When I first saw his picture, it gave me the creeps," said neighborhood watch captain Barbara Borchers.

Borchers is a neighborhood watch block captain and has passed around video taken by her neighbor's web cam. More disturbing than the stranger's repeated early morning visits, though, is the suspicion of who he may be. Harris County deputies have identified the peeper as Michael William Miles a 'high-risk' registered sex offender with a history of exposing himself and even burglary.

We couldn't find Miles at the nearby address he has registered as his residence. We're told deputies have had a hard time tracking him down to arrest him for criminal trespassing.

"Gates have been open. You know it's been apparent that someone's opened a gate," said Borchers.

Borchers says several neighbors have seen the signs Miles may be visiting them. The family who finally captured the video told us they put up a web cam after spotting the same man walk up their driveway and into their backyard at least twice before. It was always between 11pm and 5am.

Now with a face to look out for, neighbors are on alert for the stranger in their midst.

That video evidence is what led deputies to charge Miles with criminal trespassing. When he does he get picked up, his bond is set at $5,000.

According to the sex offender registry, Miles also goes by the nickname 'Walking Eagle' and has a job working for a local Christian bookstore.
