FBI needs your help to find bank robbery suspect

HOUSTON It happened at the Wachovia Bank at 235 West 20th Street shortly after 3pm. Officials with the Houston office of the FBI say a man walked into the bank and approached the teller counter. He reportedly held up a note, which said he had a gun and wanted money. The teller complied, handing him loose cash.

The suspects then left the bank and was seen getting into a green Ford F-150 driven by someone else. That vehicle was recovered at a nearby apartment complex around an hour after the robbery.

Police later discovered that the pickup had been stolen earlier in the day from a neighborhood in north Harris County.

Witnesses described the bank robber as a black male, 20-25 years old, 5'5" tall, 150 pounds, slender build, clean-shaven with sideburns. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black tee shirt, jeans, and tennis shoes.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and arrest of this robber, or any felony suspect. If you have information about this crime, please call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 713-222-TIPS (8477) or the Houston office of the FBI at 713-693-5000.
