Man fatally shot outside office building

Homicide investigators are searching for a gunman who shot and killed a man outside an office building in southwest Houston Tuesday afternoon. The shooting happened around 1:30 at the office building on Harwin near Hartsdale.

The victim was a temp who had only worked at a medical clinic in the building for the last couple of days. Co-workers say he got into an altercation with some contractors who were moving furniture. The argument spilled out into the parking lot, which is where that temp was fatally shot. Witnesses tried to perform CPR, but weren't able to save him.

Employees at a language business inside the office building heard what was going on, but didn't know how serious it was until they heard the gunfire.

"When they heard a lot of hollering, they didn't think anything of it because normally it takes place," said business owner Lisa Martinez. "But then they started hearing gunshots. That's when they got scared. They laid on the ground and just called me from a cell."

Police believe the suspect is riding in a red Ford pickup truck, possibly an F-150. At this point, they've only spoken to three people who witnessed the shooting. They hope other people will come forward.

If you know anything about this shooting, you're being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
