Two killed in alleged DWI wreck

HOUSTON Police say the driver of a black Nissan Maxima was traveling northbound on the South Lake Houston Parkway around 3:20am when she was rear-ended by a black Jeep SUV. They say the Jeep was driven by Nadia Elizabeth Munoz, 20. The Jeep then veered to the left into oncoming traffic and struck a red Chevrolet Lumina traveling southbound.

Two male victims, the Lumina driver and his passenger, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities are pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

Munoz was detained for questioning at the scene, while the driver of the Maxima reportedly fled. Hit and run investigators contacted the driver of the Maxima, who agreed to return to the scene. However, she did not. She is wanted at this time. Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact the HPD Hit and Run Detail at 713-247-4065.

Munoz faces charges of two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
