HS students may be exposed to TB

HOUSTON North Forest ISD officials sent a letter to parents of students at North Forest High School after school leaders had been notified that an individual is suspected of having tuberculosis. Those identified as potential contacts are being notified. The letter doesn't disclose if the possible patient is a student, teacher or staff member.

Signs and symptoms consistent with TB may include an unexplained cough for at least three weeks, unintentional weight loss, fever, night sweats or extreme fatigue.

The Houston Department of Health held a parent meeting to answer questions last night.
