Job fair being held today in Humble

On Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, from 10am to 3 p.m. at 8233 Will Clayton Parkway Humble Civic Center more than 30 employers will meet and interview hundreds of job seekers.

Participating employers such as GE Oil & Gas, Plastipak Packaging, Silver Leaf Reorts, Kingwood Medical Center, FMC Technologies, United States Secret Service to name a few will seek to fill hourly positions ranging from entry-level to management and they represent industries such as health care, customer service, hospitality, finance, sales, insurance, skilled trades, transportation, security, oil and gas, and more.

The Houston job fair is part of the "Putting America Back to Work" Job Fair Series, taking place in more than 50 cities across the country throughout 2009. The job fair series allows jobseekers to have personal contact with prospective employers and aims to help 15,000 workers find jobs by 2010.

Adding to the success of this job fair series is support from organizations including: the AARP Foundation, the National Urban League, the American Hotel and Lodging Association, myStaffingPro, and AmVets.

Ford Motor Company is continuing its successful job fair partnership with The Employment Guide and, which provides Ford employees who are considering buyout offers the opportunity to transition to new careers. Ford will promote the "Putting America Back to Work" job fairs to employees who have previously accepted buyout packages.
