SPCA looking for new homes for seized birds

HOUSTON More than 1,000 animals were rescued from deplorable conditions at a home in northwest Harris County last month. SPCA workers say about 225 birds are now available for adoption. They include finches, quakers, parrots and parakeets.

A judge is making the original owner of the animals sell his property to pay the SPCA for caring for the animals.
