Janitors protest in Galleria area

HOUSTON That's the place where they held their first protest during a strike three years ago. This time around, the union is looking to extend employee benefits as well as increase wages.

"We still need to get our pay scale up there where its adequate to all these workers," said LULAC Southwest National VP Sylvia Gonzales. "These are hard working people that come here, they pay taxes. They deserve a decent wage."

The janitors' current contract expires in November.
