Candy-loving suspect robs CVS

HOUSTON Around 10:35pm, a black male entered the store and got in line to check out. He selected a candy bar and placed it on the counter. The clerk scanned the candy bar and opened the cash register.

Officials say the suspect placed his hand underneath his shirt and told the clerk that this was a robbery. The clerk, fearing the suspect was armed with a gun, backed away from the cash register. The suspect reached over and took the cash from the register and his candy bar from the counter and fled the store. He was seen entering a black old model van, possibly a Chevy Astro.

The suspect is described as a 25 to 40 year old black male. He is between 5'5" and 5'7" tall. He weighs around 150 to 180 pounds. He had a mustache and was wearing a purple shirt, blue jean shorts and black shoes with white socks.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for any information called in to the 713-222-8477 (TIPS) hotline or submitted online at www.crime-stoppers.org that leads to the identification, arrest and/or charging of the suspects in this case. Tips can also be sent by text message - Text TIP610 plus your tip to CRIMES (274637). All tipsters remain anonymous.
