Security checkpoints reopen at IAH

HOUSTON According to an airport spokesperson, shortly after 5pm security officers spotted a man running up a down escalator and sounded an alert at Bush Intercontinental Airport. Security checkpoints at terminal C were shut down while officers investigated.

The man had apparently gotten off his plane and mistakenly went to the baggage claim area. When he realized his error, he went up the down escalator in an effort to return to the proper portion of the airport.

The entire incident was cleared after 20 minutes. Passengers are once again moving through security checkpoints. It's unknown if the security situation had any impact on flights.
