Four indicted in murder of doctor

HOUSTON The Austin County Grand Jury handed up four indictments for capital murder against brothers Cristobal Cerna, 23, Moises Cerna, 18, and Noel Galvan-Cerna, 21, and their cousin Misael Santollo, 18. Dr. Jorge Mario Gonzalez was murdered on August 22. Gonzalez, 56, was ambushed at his ranch in Bellville. He was shot several times and died at the scene.

His wife, Charleen, and their baby son hid in a closet and were unharmed. She called 911 from inside the closet. The indictments allege the suspects killed the doctor by shooting him with a firearm in the course of the robbery, burglary and kidnapping of his wife.

Galvan-Cerna was also wounded in the shootout. Galvan had worked for Dr. Gonzalez as a ranch hand.

All four men are being held without bond in the Austin County Jail pending their next court date, which is scheduled for October 13.
