Deadly home invasion in N. Houston

HOUSTON It happened at the Oak Leaf Village apartments on Dyna at Airline. Police say the people inside had cracked open the front door as they were smoking. But then two men barged in with guns drawn demanding cash and jewelry.

One resident was in the kitchen at the time and was shot and killed when he walked out to see what the commotion was about.

Police say the two intruders also hit one of the women in the apartment before they took off with about $50 to $100 in cash and jewelry.
