Ft. Bend man run over by teen's car

HOUSTON Dr. Ted Hilton says he got the call early Saturday morning and could not believe what he was being told when he arrived at the scene.

"He had been flown by Life-Flight from the scene and he had quite extensive injuries," said Dr. Hilton.

His son Brent, a 27-year-old who works for an oil equipment manufacturer, had been at a party at a friend's house when eyewitnesses say a group of teens pulled up with baseball bats and crowbars.

"Everybody didn't have a chance. They were unarmed and at their mercy," said Dr. Hilton.

Eyewitnesses tell police after the assaults, the group got into two to three cars and left, but then they returned. And that's when Brent Hilton got caught in the middle.

Brent was run over at least twice by one of the drivers.

"He had a broken femur in four places, a broken ankle, a broken back," said Dr. Hilton.

That's just a partial list of the more than a dozen broken bones and he suffered internal injuries.

Sugar Land police are still working the case and interviewing eyewitnesses. So far they believe the suspects did not know anyone at the party, especially not Brent Hilton.

His father says they are fortunate he is even alive.

"We are thankful for a lot, although he is still facing a long recovery," said Dr. Hilton.
