Cleared deputy gets old rank back

HOUSTON The Harris County Civil Service Commission restored Ed Christensen to senior deputy status, despite the fact that a jury convicted him of theft in 2004. He was accused of running a charity campaign in which donors thought they were helping the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.

Last year, an appeals court overturned the conviction.
