Saturday's event was at the George R. Brown Convention Center with plenty of space and more employers.
"We have diversified," said Jackson Lee. "We have some online, we have some direct hires, we have some like the city of Houston, explaining what the process is."
"I'm grateful," said job seeker Joy Bendslev. "Unemployment is running out, the phone bill is due. I got computer classes."
Besides recruiters, the fair also provided seminars on networking and internet skills. Jackson Lee said the job fair could become an annual event.
