Man trapped in burning car dies

HOUSTON The man was driving north on the West Loop and tried to take the Highway 290 exit. Police say for some reason he lost control, crashed through a guard rail, then headed down an embankment, eventually slamming into some trees. That's when the car burst into flames.

Traffic on the loop was diverted for several hours while police investigated.
