Still one concern for East End Light Rail

HOUSTON The debate centers around Metro's plans to build an overpass over an existing rail road at Harrisburg and Hughes.

People who work and live in the area want an underpass built, saying it will go better with a plan to revitalize the east side. During a meeting Friday, members of the East End Chamber said an underpass is affordable, and best for the neighborhood

"We're not going to give up. We're not going to give up until it's under. And it's going to be under in Harrisburg," said Diane Lipton, President of East End Chamber.

So far metro has made no changes to its overpass plan. Metro has said an underpass would be considerably more costly.
