Rullamas says the mother visited her daughter at least twice a week and called staff before coming Sunday evening. She apparently brought a revolver into her daughter's room in a handbag.
Yvette Harden had been living at the facility for six years after suffering serious brain damage from a 1994 car accident that also left her partially paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair.
Police say they have no motive for the killing.
