"There was a dead hydrant in the back of the apartment," said Houston Fire Department District Chief Tommy Dowdy. "It took a little bit longer to get the water supply established, pulled a second alarm. Had four additional pumpers here to keep the manpower rotating through."
Nine units sustained smoke and water damage. No one was hurt and it's unknown how the fire started.
