HPD gets new crime-fighting tool

HOUSTON Blue Check Mobile Identification Devices allow officers to digitally scan fingerprints of persons under reasonable suspicion. Officers then check the prints against HPD and FBI criminal databases and get back results in three minutes or less.

HPD has 77 Blue Check devices linked to the FBI database.
