Investigators say the small Chevy car left a neaby park, hit a pole and then ran into the front of patrol car that just happened to be in the area. The officer noticed the man had gunshot wounds and called for paramedics, but the man died before they arrived.
The officer was not hurt. Police don't know who shot the man or why.
