Family tragedy unfolds in River Oaks

HOUSTON It happened Sunday at the home on Ella Lee near Claremont.

The father, Eugene Blake Hawk, a prominent Houston attorney, is listed as stable at Ben Taub Hospital. Police say he was shot twice in the head by his 21-year-old son, Raymond Blake Hawk after an argument inside the home.

Police found the son's body in the living room of the home. They say after shooting his father, he turned the gun on himself.

It was just after 1pm when neighbors say they saw Eugene Hawk running towards his next door neighbor's house, where he collapsed. They ran out to help while another neighbor called 911. They say Hawk was bleeding profusely from his head, but was conscious.

"Blake was quite lucid and was able to give a lot of information to the policeman," said neighbor Ben Wells.

At this point, it's unclear what sparked the shooting. There is no known motive.
